Reg. 31a Wrong to return to the Bengali a kind of hut (6) NESTER
CV: This is not the answer. "Nester" is one who builds a nest; it doesn't mean "a kind of hut". The correct answer is NIS-SEN. Rev. of sin (wrong) + Sen (the Bengali).' Nissen hut' is a shed with semicircular roof used for storage and may be seen in IAF units just as I saw in Jalahalli, near Bangalore, years ago when I was living with my dad in officers' quarters.
Reg. 3d Be around a group (4) RING (Direct??)
CV: Two meanings, actually.. Ring (v.) (be around) / ring (n.) (a group) as in ringleader where 'ring' is a group or band.
Reg. 6d Tricks taken up to embrace the 21st Vedic precept (5) SUTRA
CV: Exp? Rev. of 'arts' going round 'u' (which is the 21st letter in the alpabet.
Reg. 14d Father in India is a double graduate (4) BABA (Direct)
CV: This too is not direct. Actually it is B.A.+ B.A. (double graduate)
Reg. 16d Delights with daily writing (6) CHARMS (Double Defn.)
CV: This is not double def. It is 'word after word'. char (daily) + MS (manuscript or writing)
Reg. 25d Be full of no British fibre (5) ISTLE (Be full of=BRISTLE??=>Be full of no British = BRISTLE-BR)
CV: When a battlefield "bristles" with soldiers it is "full of" soldiers.
